Round 7 of the Classic Formula Ford 1600 Championship, and a convincing victory for LCC member Paul Sleeman. Having qualified second, Sleeman made a fine getaway at the start and led into the first corner. On lap 3, howver, an accident at Paddock further back in the field necessitated a restart, and reduced the race from 20 minutes to 12. Again Sleeman went into the lead, and despite continual pressure, first from Paul Walton and then from Jon Davis, he was able to retain it right to the chequered flag, his Jamun T2 crossing the line 1.23 seconds ahead of Davis' Hawke, which on a track as small as Lydden is a pretty respectable margin. |
