Steve Long and Wendy Gibson continue their successful, if action-filled, season in the BMW Championship. At their last rally on 31 July, a missed call on Stage 1 meant that instead of taking a ninety degree right after a crest, they shot straight on - and met the landscape full in the face!

It was a beautiful day, a beautiful location, a beautiful collection of cars - and there were even prizes! The London Car Club was priviledged to be the guest of the City Livery Club's concours event held at Radwinter, an event that was more about the enjoyment of cars than polishing sump guards with a toothbrush. Even so, there was some truly immaculate machinery on display, and John Parnell's Radford Mini Cooper S was a worthy winner of Best Guest Car in Show. The LCC awarded two prizes of its own: Best Jaguar to Alistair Cameron-Clarke's E-Type, and Best Presented Car to Paul Rann's awesome TVR Cerbera.

Barely mid-way through only their 2nd season in rallying, Steve Long and Wendy Gibson are now joint leaders in the BMW Beginners' Championship after achieving 2nd overall in the Rally Marketing Mid Wales Stages on 25 June, run over 6 stages and 45 miles of gravelled forest roads.

Tom Kimber-Smith and co-driver Luke Hines continue to dominate the British GT Champioship. In both Rounds 4 and 5 at Mondello Park over the week-end of June 24-25, they took first place, and fastest lap, with their Panoz Esperante GTLM.

Tom Kimber-Smith was 4th overall and 2nd in class at the British GT race at Donnington Park on 21 May, running a Panoz Esperante GTLM in the GT2 class with Luke Hines for Team LNT. Further details as and when they emerge.

LCC Chairman Hugh Marshall is competing in the revised TVR Tuscan Championship and came in an excellent 2nd in Round 1 at Oulton Park in April.
