It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of Joe Tandy, honorary member of the London Car Club and recipient our Graham Hill Memorial Trophy and an Autosport Awards finalist. Joe was a leading light in single seater racing, winning the Formula Palmer Audi Championship at his first attempt and then sacrificing his own very promising career to run his very talented younger brother Nick (also an LLC Graham Hill Memorial Trophy winner) in Formula Ford and then Formula 3 with his Joe Tandy Racing outfit. JTR had huge respect from all involved in the sport and the tributes show that great things were on the cards for Joe and his team. Joe died on the 13th May at the age of 26 in a road accident near his home at Pavenham in Bedfordshire which also claimed the life of his financee's brother. He will be sorely missed. The Club sends its heartfelt condolences to Joe's family. |
