The LCC Annual Awards 2008 took place on Saturday 28 March 2009 at the now familiar venue of the Theatre and Library bars of the Victoria pub, W2. As last year, the event was held as an informal buffet rather than a formal dinner, allowing members to circulate more freely and catch up with more old friends. We also extended the invitation to members of the Allard Owners Club, as Sydney Allard was a past President of the London Motor Club (which became part of the LCC) and it was a chance to strengthen the historic links between the clubs. We were delighted to welcome Mike and Diana Knapman, and Chris and Annie Bass from the AOC, all of whom were inturn delighted by the ablumn that Glen had prepared from archive photographs of Sydney Allard in action with his cars at a huge variety of motorsport events some half a century ago.
